2023 Walk to End Alzheimer's - Manhattan, NY

On Saturday, October 21, 2023, a group of eight representing A Teen’s Guide to Dementia walked the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, organized by the Alzheimer’s Association.

We were joined by nearly 2000 others, who formed a parade around lower Manhattan on a rainy Saturday morning. But spirits were high; each of us held brightly colored flowers; yellow if you care for someone with Alzheimer’s, purple if you’ve lost someone, blue if you have Alzheimer’s, and orange if you stand with the vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.

It might seem like an easy thing to do – to get together for a walk on a Saturday morning – but collectively, we raised almost $1million. This money will go towards care, support, research, awareness, and advocacy, to improve the lives of the one in ten older Americans – including my grandmother – who suffer from dementia.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported us. See you next year!
